Hymenoplasty

we understand the sensitive nature of hymen repair surgery quite well. We also understand the importance of this surgery in a woman’s life. With absolute discretion and confidentiality, we can repair the hymen to ensure the hymen will rupture on a woman’s marital night. Hymen repair surgery can make you feel more comfortable upon your wedding night and improve your self-confidence.

What is Hymen Repair Surgery?

The hymen is a thin layer of tissue that encloses the vaginal area. The hymen can easily break in many situations outside of intercourse, including vigorous activities such as horseback riding or gymnastics, the insertion of tampons, or even during regular pap smears. Many women may not even be aware that their hymen has torn, as there may be little to no blood loss and no pain.

Hymen repair surgery, also known as hymenoplasty, is a simple procedure that will repair a torn hymen or build a hymen that is not present. It is important to understand that the surgery will not restore virginity, but it will allow for women to tear and bleed the first time they engage in intercourse after surgery.

How is Hymen Repair is done ?

You will be placed under local sedation. The surgery normally takes less than one hour. Our hymen repair specialist will stitch together the remaining pieces for the woman who has a torn hymen. This will allow the hymen to grow back together as it heals. In women who have no remnants of the hymen remaining or have been born without a hymen, the surgeon will tighten the vaginal entrance and use a small portion of the vaginal tissue to create a new hymen. This constructed hymen is very similar to natural hymen.

The Best Candidates for Hymen Repair

The best hymenoplasty candidates are those who need to ensure that their hymen is intact during intercourse on their marital night. The surgery needs to be performed at least 6 weeks before the marital night. If the breaking of your hymen is imperative for you due to social, cultural, religious or personal reasons, our surgeon will discuss the surgery openly and honestly with you.

Preparing for Hymen Repair

Many women find it difficult to discuss the nature of this surgery. At Intimate Clinic, we are aware of the sensitive nature of your concerns. this is why we treat all of our hymen repair patients with kindness, consideration and dignity. Before you decide to have surgery, think carefully about your expectations and discuss them with our surgeon.

We are also happy to ensure that a female nurse is present for you during your consultation if you wish. You will receive complete instructions on preparing for your surgery, and you will require a gynaecological examination.

Recovery Following Hymen Repair

Following your plastic surgery procedure, you will need to gently wash your intimate area with soap and water regularly. There will be slight swelling and bruising for 2-4 weeks, but the pain will be very minimal and should be gone within a week of surgery. You will receive a prescription for pain medication and antibiotics to assist with any pain and to prevent infection.

You should refrain from any vaginal insertion until the wedding night, including tampons. This will allow the incisions to heal completely and prevent the new hymen from breaking. You should also avoid heavy lifting and any strenuous activities as this may negatively affect your healing. The sutures will dissolve and come out on their own. You should be able to return to work the day after undergoing hymen repair. You should be able to resume a light exercise routine one week after surgery. Avoid heavy lifting or a strenuous exercise routine for 4-6 weeks.

What are Hymen Repair Risks & Complications

Every operation has risks and potential complications. Fortunately, the vast majority of our hymenoplasty patients have no problems with their surgery and are extremely happy with their results.

Risks are rare, but when they do occur, additional medications or even surgery may be required. Such risks include infection, bleeding, scarring, pain with intercourse, and deformity. Also, the amount of bleeding upon first intercourse following surgery cannot be predicted. However, most patients never experience these risks, as they are quite rare.

Six weeks after surgery, your hymen will be healed and restored. The first time most of our hymen repair patients engage in intercourse following the surgery, the hymen will break as expected with a natural hymen. There are usually no signs of having had a hymen repair surgery, and our patients are fully able to fulfil the cultural or religious expectations of their family and future husband.

It is important to understand that the bleeding associated with the tearing of the surgically produced hymen is just as unpredictable as it is with a natural hymen in a virgin.
